he Westchester Chorale is an auditioned avocational chorus devoted to the performance of the great choral literature. The approximately 50 men and women that form the Chorale are avid singers drawn from many walks of life. Some earn their livings as musicians; others are active in such professions as medicine, law and teaching; others yet are students, homemakers and retirees.

Westchester’s Gay-merican Idol Semi-Finals May-July 2012

Karaoke with a twist! Gay-merican Idol is our tribute to the popular tv show done karaoke style throughout Westchester County. Five Semifinal rounds will be held from May – July 2012. Each round will give us a finalist and a wild card. At the last semifinal, all of the wild cards will return for a sing off to determine the last finalist. Those 6 finalists will compete live at Gay Pride on Saturday, August 18, 2012 to be crowned Gay-merican Idol! But the winner gets more than just the title. He/she will receive tickets to the Madonna concert at Yankee Stadium in September!

Volleyball in Westchester County

This is a loosely knit group of friends and amateur volleyball players. We play at Ridge Road park on Ridge Road in Hartsdale. We meet every Monday and Wednesday that it’s not raining. When it’s not summer, we play at PS32 in Yonkers.

If you have used prom clothing, shoes, or accessories to donate, please bring them to the Community Center of Northern Westchester at 84 Bedford Road in Katonah. We are open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Be sure to tell the volunteer who greets you that the items are for the Prom Clothes Closet.

Bronx River Parkway Bicycle Sundays June 3, 10, 17, & 24 (2012)

Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During Bicycle Sundays, a portion of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The course runs from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers, a round-trip of 13.1 miles. There are many points of entry and exit along the way. Parking is available at the County Center lot in White Plains for a fee of $5.
